Keys to Natural Hair Loss Prevention
When I started experiencing excessive hair loss, I became very much distressed. I plunged into deep depression and despair. I was only 18 years old, still very much in my youth. My friends and family noticed my thinning hair especially the pronounced balding spot on the top of my head.
My immediate reaction was not to touch my hair any more than necessary. I searched for hair loss treatment advice from books, magazines, friends and family. I tried shampooing my hair ever so lightly and always counted the hair caught in my hands. I tried to avoid touching my hair and scalp in the hopes all my hair stays on it. The fact of the matter is it only made my condition worse.
In my fervent search for hair loss prevention answers, I came across a book that transformed my life. It gave me back my confidence and youthful look. Not only do I now know how to prevent hairloss, I know my hair will never grow bald even at my old age. I am 52 years old now and my hair still looks as youthful as the day I started practicing these hair loss prevention techniques which I have read and took to heart.
Is excessive hair loss or baldness one of your greatest fears? Are you in a stage where you feel you are losing too much hair every day?
Let me share to you this secret to youthful looks as I did with countless others who had my same hairloss problem.
Hair loss prevention is totally possible even if you already are experiencing excessive falling hair. By following the simple steps below, you can stop your hairline from receding and in many cases you may even grow back the hair you’ve lost.
My goal is to heighten the people’s awareness on hair loss prevention. Make it known that anyone can maintain a full head of hair all their life the natural way. Secondly, I would like to dispel common myths and misconceptions associated with hair loss or baldness.
Hair loss prevention need not be costly. In fact, I would only advocate the most basic tools: your hands, a good brush and some of your time.
Rather than to avoid touching your hair and scalp the moment you experience falling hair, it might be more of a shock to you if I tell you that the best hair loss prevention technique is actually the opposite. The key to hair loss prevention is to actually pull and tug your hair daily, making sure all dead hair is pulled out. This makes sure all dead hair is removed and won’t impede new hair growth.
But wait, you may not be in a position to do this just yet; especially if you have not been practicing proper hair loss prevention and maintenance in the past. The process of establishing a proper hair maintenance program would, at a minimum last 3 to 4 weeks.
The Essence of Hair Loss Prevention:
Ever wonder why hair usually recedes from the front of a person’s head or from the top? That is the area where the least amount of blood circulates. In other words, due to genetics or bad/neglected hair maintenance, blood can no longer reach that area of the scalp to keep hair growing at a normal rate. Hair in that area is deprived of proper nutrients being supplied by your blood thereby causing it to thin or stop regrowing.
Your scalp needs to be prepared to a point that it is conducive to hair growth. You must assist your scalp to allow blood to circulate most especially in areas where the blood vessels are scarce. In some people that area is the top of their head while in others it is in their forehead.
The steps below are meant to be done progressively. Be careful not to jump to another step when the previous one has not been accomplished. At the end of 4 weeks you must be doing all the steps daily and you will be on your way to preventing hair loss forever!
Step One: Prepare your Scalp for Blood Circulation
How do you do this? First of all, your scalp needs to be massaged daily. First thing in the morning, try massaging your scalp using your finger tips. Do not use your finger nails to do this because it could scratch and wound your scalp. The method of massaging is very important.
Place all your finger tips directly and firmly on your scalp. When you place your finger on a certain part of the scalp, it must not move away from there. Try to move the skin against your skull. It should feel you are feeling your skull by keeping your fingers stationary in various points of your scalp as you move it to and fro.
With this technique, you are not pulling any part of your hair. You are merely stimulating dead vessels underneath it and promoting blood to re-circulate in that area. Start from the bottom of your head to the top. Don’t worry about the strength or pressure of your massage. The firmer and more vigorous the massage, the more you will promote blood circulation.
Massaging your scalp should be part of your daily life from this point onwards. It will ensure the blood vessels surrounding your scalp remains healthy and functioning. At the end of a session, this massage should leave you with a tingling sensation on your head.
Remember the feeling when you sat on your leg for a long while and as you stand up you say that “your leg fell asleep” and you feel as if blood is rushing back to your legs which may be quite painful? This similar feeling, although very slight and subdued, should be felt after an invigorating massage. Don’t worry about the hair that may fall, those are already dead hair and new ones are about to grow.
I recommended that you do this at least three times a day.
Continue just practicing this for one to two weeks. You will notice that before the end of one week you will feel something different about your scalp and hair. The itchiness or soreness that may have been felt before due to your lack of attention to your scalp is gone. Your scalp would feel revived and refreshed.
Step Two: Brush Your Hair at Least a Hundred Strokes
Yes. This is no myth. Brushing is fundamental to healthy hair. It has many benefits: 1) it will distribute oil from the roots of your hair to the tips 2) it will make otherwise dull hair shinier 3) it will gently massage your scalp 4) it will pull out dead hair that is impeding growth of new hair underneath your scalp.
The first few days and if you do not brush often before, brush in the direction of your hair growth from the top of your head towards the front /side/back. There may be excessive hair caught in the brush but be confident that these hairs are really dead and must be discarded by your scalp already. If you do not remove these, it will impede the growth of the hair underneath.
If you would like, you can stoop down while brushing your hair. This will force more blood to rush to your head and scalp. Remember, allowing blood to circulate throughout your scalp is key to great hair maintenance.
Brush as often as you desire. Doing these two exercises alone daily will already be a big factor to hair loss prevention.
Step Three: Pull Out and Tug YourHave you seen the women in circuses performing a stunt by dangling in the air with only their hair tied to the rope? This seems to be a dangerous act and looks definitely harmful to their hair but actually this epitomizes a person with healthy hair doing the right exercise!
Pulling and tugging your hair makes sure dying and dead hair are pulled out in time for new hair growth. If you have done all other steps for the past weeks you will be confident now in doing this next step by now. The method is explained below:
Do this procedure only while your hair is completely dry. Right after massaging your scalp, grab a bunch of hair in between your fingers and pull it away from your scalp. The pressure applied while pulling your hair should be strong enough to pull out hair. Hair that is not yet at it’s end of life will not be pulled out so do not worry if you are tugging a bit too strong or not.
You may notice at first that you will have a lot of have pulled out at first but as you progress this will normalize to a healthy level. I would say a normal session will collect around 20 – 50 strands. This is best done when you wake up in the morning or before you sleep at night.
